Background
About This Move
Mark and Julie had lived in their 3-bed semi in Newington, Ramsgate for 11 years. Two children, a decade of accumulated belongings, and an upright piano that had been in the family for over 30 years. They were moving to Canterbury for school catchment reasons ahead of their eldest starting secondary school.
They initially enquired about Bronze service to save cost but after a conversation with our team, opted for Gold with full packing — recognising that 11 years of belongings across a family home would take considerable time to pack without professional help. The decision proved correct: our packing team estimated it would have taken them four full days to do themselves.
Challenges & Solutions
What Made This Move Complex
✓ Solution: Our piano specialist assessed the route during the pre-move survey. Piano was dismantled (legs removed), strapped to a piano board, and carried by three crew members through the narrow hallway and side gate. Arrived at Canterbury property without a mark.
✓ Solution: Packing team of 2 arrived at 7am, one hour before the removal crew. Kitchen, loft contents, garage, and all bedrooms fully packed using our materials (double-wall boxes, specialist picture boxes, wardrobe cartons). Everything labelled by room.
✓ Solution: Mark needed some items to go to a storage unit in Sturry near Canterbury, the rest to the house. We coordinated both deliveries on the same day — storage unit drop first (11am), house delivery second (12:30pm).
✓ Solution: Canterbury CT1 property had a pedestrian access alley — no van access to the front. We parked on the closest permissible street and used a hand-carry relay system. Added approximately 45 minutes to the job.

Customer Testimonial
What the Family Said
"After 11 years in Ramsgate we were nervous about such a big move — especially the piano which is irreplaceable. L&K made it completely stress-free. The packing team were incredible, the crew were cheerful all day despite the long carry at the Canterbury end, and our piano arrived without a single mark. Worth every penny of the packing add-on."
